RAF 30-33
Electric Control Hydraulic
Valve

Description
RAF 30-33 valves are activated by line pressure. The valves open or close by electric command through a selection of solenoid valves. The solenoid opens or closes the RAF as it energized by an electric pulse.
The electric pulse originates with a controller, timer, sensor or remote control device.
Available Models
RAF 30 - Two-way Normally Closed electric control valve
RAF 32- Two-way Normally Open electric control valve
RAF 31- Three-way Normally Closed electric control valve
RAF 33 - Three-way Normally Open electric control valve
Applications
On-Off electric valves are used for remote control of hydraulic valves. Normally Open or Normally Closed configurations are available.

RAF 31 - Three way NC Electric Control Valve

RAF 33 - Three way NO Electric Control Valve

Installation
Normally Closed Mode
By default, the line pressure is connected to the RAF valve control chamber above its diaphragm via ports 1-2. Thus, the diaphragm is pressed downwards against the valve seat. As the solenoid is energized by an electric pulse, its core flips to the left. Port 1 closes & the vent opens. The RAF control chamber drains out. The RAF ‘s diaphragm is forced upward by line pressure. The RAF fully opens.

Normally Open Mode
By default, the RAF control chamber is connected to the vent of the solenoid. Thus its diaphragm is pressed upward by line pressure. The RAF is fully open. As the NC solenoid is energized by an electric pulse its core flips right. The vent closes & port 1 opens. The line pressure is then connected to the RAF control chamber & pushes the diaphragm all the way downward. The RAF closes.
Two-way configuration:
The RAF’s control chamber drains downstream, enabling faster & gradual opening without water spill.

Three-way configuration:
The RAF’s control chamber drains out, enabling the valve to open fully.
Typical Application

A programmed irrigation controller commands several NC valves to water various crops. Each plot has a different interval & cycle duration.
